Born in New haven, CT 12 August 1848; died in New Haven, 4 DEC 1907; mar. at NYC, NY 5 Nov. 1873 DELIA TALMON AUDUBON, born in NYC 25 Jun 1849; dies in New Haven 17 Dec. 1926.  Both are buried at Grove Street Cemetery, New Haven.  She was the granddaughter of John James Audubon.

MORRIS attended Hillhouse public high school in New Haven.  He was graduated from Yale College with an A.B. degree in 1870 and was graduated from Yale Law School with an AM and LLB degress in 1873.  He opened his office in New Haven, 1 July, 1873.  He incorporated the Southern New England Telephone Co. in 1878, the first commecial telephone co in the USA and became its president 20 Feb. 1883; which position he held until his death.  He was executive secretary of Gov. Hobart B. Bigelow in 1881-1882.  He was professor of Law at Yale 1894-1899.  He belonged to the Congregational Church in New Haven.
