Mary Jane Gibson Bostwick was one of eight children born to Thomas Gibson, Jr. and his wife Frances Maria Hastings. She was born on June 28, 1832 in Shirley, Massachusetts. On November 29, 1876 she was united in marriage to Col. Richard Stone Bostwick, son of Major Charles Bostwick and his wife Mary Treat. According to various records, there were no children born to the couple. Mary passed away on September 10, 1901 and is interred with her husband and in-laws.
